Edwin Koester Videography

I consider myself a rare sort of filmmaker/videographer. Equal parts producer, director, cinematographer, soundman, and editor, I understand that, from the earliest stages of Pre-Production, up until the very last finishing touches of Post-Production, versatility is paramount. Fortunately, with over 8 years of experience at every level of production – whether working on features or shorts, in the studio or on location, independently or as part of a production team – this conviction has served me well.

Throughout my career, I've worked beside award-winning creators on a wide array of projects. While interning at Prospect Pictures in London, England during the summer of 2008, I spent my days as a runner for both cooking programs and prestige documentaries. In 2009, I worked with Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman and Tara Reid on the supernatural thriller, "The Fields.” Later that same year, I worked alongside Saturn Award winning actor Robert Patrick and cinematographer Stephen Kazmierski on the modern western drama, "Good Day For It.” In 2011, I worked on the emotional family drama, "Greencastle.” During 2013, I shot my first feature, the award winning independent thriller, “Ghosting,” for Third Child Productions. My camerawork on the picture earned me Best Cinematography in a Feature Film at the 2015 World Music and Independent Film Festival in Washington, DC.

For the past 3 years, I've had the great privilege of being the Head of Videography at Music & Arts, a multi-million dollar, nationwide, musical instrument retailer. Indeed, The Reelhouse Studio at Music & Arts has become my home away from home. As part of the gig, I've been fortunate enough to collaborate with a whole host of amazing music vendors, from Fender to D'Addario, from Pearl to Yamaha, the list grows each and every day. On top of that, I've traveled the country filming musicians such as the rock band, Halestorm, pop duo, A Great Big World, as well as artists from The Voice, American Idol, and The Dave Matthew's Band. Recently, my video work was nominated for Product Video of the Year at IRCE, the annual global crossroads where the online retailing industry converges.

Finally, if all of that weren't enough, over the last two years I also began producing freelance projects for a stable of wonderful clients under my company, Edwin Koester Videography.  Overall, between my independent, corporate, and freelance projects, my work has amassed over 200K views online, has garnered multiple awards, and has been featured on the UK's Virgin 1 and CNN's iReport.

Edwin Koester Videography serves as one of the premiere video production companies in the Baltimore/Washington area. My main goal is to work closely with clients in order to produce high quality content based around their needs and goals, ultimately exceeding their expectations. I want my clients to know that when they hitch their wagon to mine, everything is going to be ok. In addition, as a hands-on production company, Edwin Koester Videography constantly aims to craft visually stimulating content, while still delivering a meaningful message. From idea development, to a final product, I'm here to assist my clients in bringing their every idea to life! To that end, Edwin Koester Videography is fully equipped, state of the art, mobile filmmaking unit, fully outfitted with essentials such as HD camera/lens kits, green screens, high-end lighting and audio packages, and editing bays.

In the end, it's all about story. Because that's what we do. That's who we are. We tell stories. Morning, noon, and night - we tell stories. Stories shared casually, genuinely, and from the heart. Stories that speak to who we were, who we are, and who we yearn to be. Stories that revel in hope. And every revelation begins with a conversation, is enhanced with imagery, before finally being polished with sound, creating truly engaging, engrossing, emotionally anchored media. Ultimately, when our stories resonate correctly, we fulfill our deepest goal:

We find our heart.
